Mark Sinton, Gerard Daley and Alex Hallahan have something in common - they just can’t seem to stop writing song after song after song. Join these craftsmen on Sunday 20 July from 4pm at the Brunswick Artist Bar for a very special afternoon as they each play a set of intimate solo acoustic songs.
Mark Sinton is no stranger to the stages of Melbourne and is bound to captivate with his crystalline voice swimming around chords with melodies that reel the listener in real close. As Mark says - melody and heart is his world - and it doesn’t get much more heartfelt than him sharing his songs with good company. Who knows, he might even treat us all to some previews from his forthcoming album number two.
Some might remember Gerard Daley fronting The Stuntcar Drivers back in the late-90’s - the good news is, he is back hitting the Melbourne stages with acoustic guitar in hand and a bagful of new songs. These days, when it comes to his writing, Gerard loves to deep dive inside himself to explore what it’s like to be human - you can file him somewhere in between Jeff Tweedy and Suzanne Vega.
With his distinctive singing voice, literary lyric writing style and his ability to straddle multiple music genres, Alex Hallahan sprang from out of nowhere in 2008 with his first album release, The Turning Wheel. He gained instant attention within the music industry and became part of Melbourne’s rich and diverse live music scene. In 2015 he vanished from the music scene… until now. What a treat.
