We’ve got loads of mature, beneficial, and beautiful perennial plants in the Tom Settlemire Community Garden! We’re offering the community a chance to help us clean up the Garden a bit and take home some high quality, hearty species for fall planting in your garden or properties. When you leave, a donation is requested for the plants. Here is how it works:
In advance, review our available species list to determine your selections.
Please sign up for a specific time between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm using the booking times below. If you are planning to come with a group EACH person must sign up for the time slot. There are only 5 spots per time slot.
On September 13th, at your designated time slot, come with gloves, a pruner or scissors, a bucket or basket, and your wallet.
The garden team can provide a shovel and will show you where to dig.
You trim and dig what you like, wash off the roots in our washing station, and provide us with a donation (cash or check).
Plant at home for beauty next spring and summer!
We will also have some potted native seedlings available that were started by TSCG volunteers in 2024 and are ready to come home and be planted in your garden.
This event is rain or shine, except in the case of torrential rain, high winds, lightning, etc. If you are coming with friends, please sign up for multiple slots.
