Dance Wave presents:
DANCE OF THE RETURNING LIGHT – A WINTER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION
Join us in celebration of the shortest day and longest night of the year with a sacred gathering this Winter Solstice. An important astronomical event that is acknowledged in almost every culture around the world, often recognised as a time of rebirth and renewal as the days start to get longer and we celebrate the “returning of the light”.
Opening with a ceremony based in Celtic/pagan tradition, we’ll take a sacred pause in reflection of the darker days that preceded with some intention-setting for the longer days to come. We’ll follow with a dance journey by Elkemist to help integrate these intentions and then land the experience with a sound bath featuring guest musician Nectar of Sounds before a closing circle and ending with some social time.
6.30pm: DOORS
7.00pm: SOLSTICE CEREMONY (doors will lock so please arrive before 7pm)
7.30pm: DANCE JOURNEY (Elkemist)
9.00pm: SOUND BATH (Elkemist and Nectar of Sounds)

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Jase Aether / Elkemist is a multi-instrumentalist, hybrid live DJ, facilitator and ceremonialist who has been co-hosting intentional gatherings for the past 5 years in the mountains of BC, Canada. It was there he also co-founded a weekly ecstatic dance called Dance Wave, hosting over 50 events and gatherings in one year as well as initiating a Men’s circle in service to his local community. As Jase has landed back in his hometown of Melbourne, the time has come to start offering these intentional gatherings with his motherland tribe to help co-create healing, connection, expansion and authentic expression for community once again.

This sacred gathering is held on the stolen land of the sovereign Wurundjeri people. Dance Wave recognise that we have benefited from colonialism and acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the wisdom-keepers of the waters, trees, lands and animals, and it is our intention with this acknowledgement to help heal the connection between all beings of the larger Kulin nation, activating the blackfella/whitefella dreaming that has been prophesied to bring us into balance and harmony, for the betterment of all.
