“Securing the world with his attention”, Vishnu is an important manifestation of Divinity in Hinduism. He is depicted as engaging with the world through his acts of preservation and as a model householder.

Vishnu’s stories are full of compassion and faith and educate us about the history of yoga’s philosophy. From Hindu practices for the renunciates to the rise of Buddhism and its appeal to the common person, the symbols and rituals of Vishnu guide us to a deeper connection with our yoga practice today. Devdutt Pattanaik's book "7 Secrets of Vishu" is a gem that offers accessible writing and dozens of annotated images of sacred art.

Join us for this 5-week book club to read and discuss Vishnu’s role in and influence on modern yoga practices.

You do not need to read anything before our first session.
