An Underscore Contact Improvisation Jam

The Underscore, developed by Nancy Stark Smith, is a detailed improvisational score that guides dancers through states of tuning, sensing, researching, and interconnected dancing. It offers a shared language and structure for CI practitioners, moving from solo awareness into group composition. It supports deep listening, play, and collective awareness while leaving space for personal exploration.

Important to know:
We start together and end together. The Underscore is a more committed container than an open Jam, so please join only if you can stay for the whole journey.
The first half-hour is an introduction, so if you’ve never practised an Underscore, please arrive on time so we can all enjoy what being on the same page allows.
Doors will close at 10:30, and latecomers will not be allowed in.
And lastly… it is always a little bit magical, so you really shouldn’t miss it :)
