Open Dutch Skiff Trophy 2024

We expect good fleets of at least Musto, RS100, RS700, 49er, RS800, ISO, RS Aero and RS500, please come swim with us.

The first weekend of October, a true spectacle takes place on the Grevelingenmeer near Bruinisse, Zealand. During the Open Dutch Skiff Trophy high performance sailboats will be used. Mostly equipped with a gennaker and trapeze to keep the boats in balance. All types of skiff sailboats are welcome to participate in the open class. This will be done on handicap. To let different types of sailboats compete in a fair way, there are handicap systems. The handicap is a time correction on the sailed time of a course. The corrected time is used to more or less compare the performance of different sailboats under equal conditions. Except for the open skiff class, sailing is done in the unit class RS500. Saturday the start is at 12:00 and Sunday it is at 10:30. Attempts will be made to sail four races daily. There is an international field of participants with sailors from the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France and England. It is expected that about 60 boats will participate in this beautiful race. Besides sportsmanship, Saturday night there will be time for a nice captains dinner.
