WE Bike from Coney Island to a picnic at Shirley Chisholm State Park

Join us in riding a protected path on the Brooklyn Greenway from Brighton Beach (near Coney Island) out to Shirley Chisholm State Park -- created to honor the first black woman to be elected to the United States Congress, and who represented New York for 7 terms. She also was the first black candidate to win a major-party nomination for running for President.

We'll meet at Brighton Beach MTA stop, ride to the park along a protected bike path, and have a break to enjoy views of Jamaica Bay and rest for a picnic, and then back to Brighton Beach. Anyone interested can join for a quick trip to the boardwalk for a snack/coffee afterwards.

It's about 10 miles to the park (20 miles round trip) from Brighton Beach - the ride should take approx 3 hours including the break.

Make sure to bring your own drinks/snacks, definitely water, if needed to enjoy at the park. There are picnic tables but probably not places to purchase beverages/food.
