Look out for the JOC flag to find us! General area where we will be is circled in red on the map of the beach.

How to get there:
Train: Q to Sheepshead Bay train station
Bus: B4 or B49 to Emmons Ave/Sheepshead Bay Road or the BM3 to Emmons Ave & Ocean Avenue.

From the Sheepshead Bay train station to Manhattan Beach Park (where we’ll be BBQing/eating after whale/dolphin watching) it’s 1 mile, a 25 minute walk and a beautiful day!
(Northeast of promenade, median adjacent to parking lot, and Oriental Boulevard & Hastings Street)

From the Train to Pier 8, where we’ll be leaving from for the whale and dolphin watching with American Princess Cruises it’s half a mile and a 10 minute walk.

Parking is available in the lot near the designated area for BBQ’ing and eating and on a super limited basis. Parking in that area is $22. Exit 8 off Belt Pkwy and follow signs for parking.

Another option is to park in Sheepshead Bay and around the piers and take the Ocean Avenue Footbridge on Emmons Ave and East 19th St.

“Cross the Footbridge: Enjoy a pleasant walk across the wooden pedestrian bridge, which offers nice views and is popular for walking and fishing. It's a great spot to pause and appreciate the scenery. This route provides a scenic way to get from the Sheepshead Bay subway station to Manhattan Beach, while allowing you to enjoy the unique charm of the Ocean Avenue footbridge.”

If you’re carrying a bunch of stuff and don’t want to do the walk ask about peer pickup (link above) or hail an Uber/Lyft for a few bucks. Cheaper than parking!
