About the event

Intro to MIG Welding: Evening Intensive - Brooklyn
Learn the basics of MIG (metal inert gas) welding in this 3-hr evening intensive!

About this Event

PLEASE NOTE that this class takes place at our Brooklyn location!

Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding is the process of using electricity and gas (argon and Co2) to weld two pieces of metal together. It is the simplest and easiest form of welding, making it accessible for the average person to learn.

This hands-on 3-hour workshop introduces the fundamentals of MIG welding including safety, equipment setup, basic welding techniques, and key terminology. Students will learn how to weld steel, as well as preparing material on the ironworker. By the end of the workshop, students will have completed several basic welds and gained confidence in using MIG welding equipment. Completion of this workshop will certify students for independent use of MIG welding equipment at Makerspace NYC (at the instructor's discretion).
