DOKU! DOKU! DOKU!: samsara.exe

Join Lu Yang and Amant’s Associate Curator Ian Wallace for a walkthrough of DOKU! DOKU! DOKU!: samsara.exe, the artist’s first institutional solo presentation in the United States. The exhibition brings together three feature-length films centered on DOKU, a virtual avatar modeled on Lu Yang’s own body and face, within an immersive installation that transforms Amant’s 306 Maujer gallery into a rock-garden landscape. Referencing the Japanese Buddhist phrase dokusho dokushi—“We are born alone, and we die alone”—DOKU serves as both a personal surrogate and philosophical vessel, navigating a cosmos where spiritual belief, neuroscience, and technological mediation converge.

Amant programs are always free. RSVPs are strongly encouraged. Seating is first come, first served with some standing room available. Doors for this program will open at 3:45pm on Saturday, September 20 in Géza, located at 306 Maujer.
