What’s in a leaf? More than you think.
Join us at Green-Wood for a curiosity-fueled walking tour exploring the hidden chemistry of plants and soils! Learn how native and non-native trees shape their environments, from the nutrients in their leaves to the minerals beneath your feet. Discover how these chemical clues help scientists understand biodiversity, invasion, and the invisible networks that support life above and below ground.
Led by Green-Wood’s 2025 Environmental Research Fellows Dr. Emily Herstoff from St. Francis College and Dr. Michael Tessler from Medgar Evers College, CUNY, along with Ph.D. student Liam Engel from Fordham University, this hour-long walk promises engaging insights and a chance to dive into their exciting ongoing research.
Please note that if only 1 ticket shows as available during the purchase process, that is the last ticket available.
Free. Registration required. Please consider a $10 to the Green-Wood Historic Fund so that we can continue to offer more programs like this throughout the year.
