Brooklyn Women's Writing Group will be hosting a free and open to the public conference at Bushwick Public Library on December 6th with the aim of bringing together our writing community. The goal of the conference is to provide insight on both the craft and industry of writing, and to give writers a space to gather and create.
You are welcome to join us for one part of the event, but you are encouraged to stay for the day. We will have two panels for the entire group in the morning with themes that include writing one's life and working with archive, as well as a panel on publishing options that will work best for your project.
After lunch there will be three workshops:
Sell Your Novel - Finding the beauty in forging that shimmering pitch for agents and publishers
Editing with Intention - Best practices for editing novels, and having fun doing it.
Unearthing the Generative - a generative writing workshop
Generative Writing - A guided prompted session using the books in the library to help you develop your simmering ideas or spark new ones.
The day will wrap up with an open mic, and a chance to socialize with authors and make connections with one another. We can't wait to see you there!
