DESCRIPTION:
As part of the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s 2026 public art commissions, Brooklyn-based professional creatives are invited to join this information session led by Assistant Curator, Sarah Sloan Malik. The session will provide artists and designers with key details surrounding the Brooklyn Forged open call, including:

• A guided site tour of the proposed installation location (approximately three minutes from check-in along a flat, paved sidewalk)
• Insights from the 2025 installation, Our Brooklyn, highlighting successes and challenges
• Information tied to material, equipment, and installation parameters
• A deeper exploration of the Brooklyn Forged theme and content considerations
• A review of the submission form and selection process

BNYDC staff will NOT be going over the details of the RFP, but instead focusing on key questions derived from the RFP.
