Alex Budovsky — Retrospective / Animation Series

This fall, we’re back with a new series of screenings at Clown Show Pr*son!

We’re opening the season with a special retrospective of works by Alex Budovsky, an animator born in Leningrad, now living between New York and Bogotá. Since 2002, Budovsky has been creating short films that blur the line between music video, abstraction, and visual storytelling. His pieces have screened at festivals like Sundance and Tribeca, and often began as personal experiments or rhythmic collaborations with musicians.

This retrospective compiles a selection of pieces that explore recurring themes in Budovsky’s work over two decades of independent animation.
