The May 13th moon will rise around 5:20pm so the wonderful women of the west will again gather at the Imperial Lakes Nature Park.
Come along to the lookout at 5pm to feel on top of the world, sharing a stunning sunset, stories, and plenty of laughs with good hearted women of all ages... followed by a magnificent moonrise that reminds us all to rise and shine; disengage from negativity, re-set, and refocus on our goals.
This is a friendly, non-political, 18yo+ group. We welcome women across all generations to join us at the nature park each month where you'll be invited to share a story or thoughts about a particular topic.
May topics
What do you do to nurture yourself and how often?
Who do you turn to for support when most needed?
Why circles?
By creating a space for people to be authentic and vulnerable with others, holding circles can help to:
1. build community
2. pass on wisdom and knowledge across the generations
3. gain greater awareness of our own internal story (thoughts and beliefs) and the impact it has on our lives.
Circle guidelines:
1. Attendees meet in the car park before heading to the site, so there is plenty of time to chat. Once we enter the circle, we ask that you speak softly, if at all. This allows time to quieten our minds and step into a reflective mindset before sharing with the group.
2. The person holding the talking object (ie. a stick) is the only person to speak.
3. Please hold back from asking questions or offering advice while a person is speaking. It is time to simply listen and reflect on what you may learn from their story. There will be time to ask questions and exchange information later in the evening.
4. Feel free to speak your truth and share your unique story - make 'I' statements and speak from your own lived-experience and perspective. No lectures. No philosophising. No advice.
5. Feel free to NOT share. You are welcome to pass and simply listen to others. No pressure.
6. Confidentiality is critical (especially in our small, remote community). What is shared in the circle, stays in the circle.
7. Mandatory reporting: Sharing about child protection issues or concerns about self-harm or harm to others will be reported.
