Sun, sand and sea - we're having a beach day!

Viking Bay has golden sands, clear waters and is the perfect spot to soak up the coastal vibes. Whether you're into a leisurely swim, a seaside picnic, or a good old beach walk, it’s a day for relaxation and connection with nature.

Feel the sand between your toes, breathe in the fresh sea air, and enjoy some well-deserved time by the coast.

Location: Viking Bay Beach, Broadstairs

Date: Saturday 9th August 2025

Meeting time: 08:45am at London Victoria to get the 9:10 train to Broadstairs (Group ticket to save 1/3)

Agenda:

🌊 Relaxing on the sandy beach with stunning views of the sea.

☀️ A chance to unwind, take a swim, or read by the water’s edge.

🍉 Bring a picnic to share, or grab something from the local beach cafes.

🏖️ Explore the vibrant local town with its picturesque streets and seaside charm.

🌼 We'll have some beach games on hand too

Who is this for? This is an exclusive event for queer women and non-binary people of colour.

About Touch Grass

Touch Grass is an outdoor community for queer women and non-binary people of colour.

We are committed to fostering community growth through outdoor gatherings and wellness-focused trips that encourage us to rekindle our relationship with nature. Our immersive experiences go beyond relaxation-it's about empowerment, wellness, and forging meaningful connections.

Our vision is for queer people of colour to see the outdoors as a space where we belong. A Natural England study found that White people are 70% more likely than Black and Asian people to spend time in the countryside. We want to change this. We deserve to reap the benefits of improved emotional well-being and physical health too.

We believe creativity and nature go hand in hand, which is why most of our events encourage you to embrace nature and your inner creative spirit.
