SEALL Presents Small Halls '25 starring 4 of our musicians!

Martin Green
Martin Green will play this event. Martin is a multi-award-winning musician and Ivor Novello winning composer. As a member of Lau he has won four BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Best Group. In 2014 he received a Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Artists. In 2019 he won the Ivor Novello Award for his sound walk “Aeons”. More recently his critically acclaimed work for BBC Radio 4 exploring rave culture, morris dancing and brass banding has received millions of listens. He recently had his first play “Keli” staged by The National theatre Of Scotland.

Laura Jane Wilkie
Laura Jane Wilkie will play this event. Hailing from Tain in the Highlands, Laura has a unique style which has roots in the Highland fiddle traditions but is influenced by an eclectic range of music from all genres. Laura has toured internationally with various projects including Kinnaris Quintet, Niteworks and Siobhan Miller. As a founding member of Fat-Suit, Laura has been inspired to play with elements of improvisation in different styles, making her a versatile influence on each project. Collaborations include with; Shooglenifty, Rachel Sermanni and Elephant Sessions.

Alasdair Roberts
Alasdair Roberts will play this event. Alasdair is a Glasgow-based musician – primarily a singer and guitarist – born in Germany and raised in central Scotland. Acclaimed by Folk Radio UK as 'one of our most talented, important and relevant songwriters and song-adapters', he has released several critically acclaimed albums. Alasdair is known for his own idiosyncratic and evocative compositions and songs, as well as for his fresh interpretations of traditional songs and narrative ballads from Scotland and beyond.

Ciorstaidh Beaton
Ciorstaidh Beaton will play this event. Recently crowned ‘Musician of the Year’ at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, Ciorstaidh is known for her rich sound, innovative arrangements and fearlessly driven style of harping. She is a highly versatile sought-after soloist and orchestral harpist across many platforms and genres. Ciorstaidh is a gaelic speaker from The Isle of Skye, currently based in Glasgow. She was chosen to compose a ‘New Voices’ commission by Celtic Connections 2025, part of which was filmed for BBC Alba’s ‘Seirm’.
