Join the National Trust for Scotland Ranger on a breathtaking, but challenging walk through the Scotland's Rainforest of the Coille Mhor
Experience beautiful woodland scenery on this Ranger led guided walk and immerse yourself in the Scotland's breathtaking Rainforest. This walk takes you into the heart of the Coille Mhor, where veteran oaks grow on the lower slopes and on higher grounds - birch, hazel, rowan, ash, and alder thrive. Wildflowers carpet the woodland floor and lichens drip from the mature trees, with six rarities and some species at their northernmost limit.
This walk is strenuous, with rough terrain and there is a high tick risk. A good level of fitness is required. Please note – the first part of the walk is on a path that is managed, but the second half involves crossing gorges, fences, stiles and the ground is tussocky and rough. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for spending time outdoors. Good waterproofs, walking boots, walking poles, tick repellent and refreshments are advised. This walk does cross through fields containing cattle.
