🌿 Jarní sympozium o biotopech v perspektivách umění a vědy: přednášky, exkurze, workshopy 🌿

Jarní sympozium o biotopech v perspektivách umění a vědy 2025 hledá cesty a příležitosti, jak propojovat umělecké a vědecké nahlížení na nelidské aktéry prostřednictvím přednášek i terénních exkurzí. Tematickými okruhy bude biodiverzita s přihlédnutím k různorodosti biotopů města Brna a jeho okolí – od městské divočiny po staré lesy, a to zejména z perspektivy ornitologie a botaniky. V obecnějším rámci ale sympozium také tématizuje pronikání vegetace, ptačí i hmyzí tématiky do umění; otevře otázky hodnot přírody, ekosystémových služeb a práv přírody. Na sympoziu promluví nebo místy provedou vědci či ochranáři z MUNI, Czechglobe, MENDELU, České ornitologické společnosti či Rezekvítku a o svém umění promluví zahraniční i české umělectvo i kurátorstvo. Sympozium proběhne 29. 5. – 31. 5. 2025 na FaVU a v terénu (plánovány jsou exkurze do Černovické pískovny, stepi Vyškovska – NPP Malhotky, Ždánický les, Boršovské louky u Kyjova).

-> 7:50 Exkurze na Národní přírodní památku Malhotky (u Nevojic na Vyškovsku)
Pdjezd z vlakového nádraží 8:12 směr Staré Město, sraz na hlavním nádraží 7:50. Po lokalitě provede botanik RNDr. Libor Ambrozek posléze přesun pěšky přes Nevojice do Ždánského lesa, směr U Slepice – cílem jsou zachovalé doubravy a staré bučiny.
-> Workshop s MgA. Tomášem Hrůzou: Slepice a ropa: Co bylo dřív – slepice nebo ropa?
V performativní procházce po svazích Ždánického lesa se zaměříme na téma geologické paměti místa a prožívání hlubokého času. Budeme také zkoumat slepičí krok a ladit jej ve vztahu k frekvenci kývání těžebních kozlíků. Přesun vlakem z Nesovic nebo Nemotic na Boršovské louky u Kyjova, kde je možno přespat pod vlastním stanem.

🌿 The Spring Symposium on Habitats Through The Perspectives of Art and Science🌿
29–31 May 2025
The Spring Symposium on Habitats Through The Perspectives of Art and Science 2025 seeks ways and opportunities to connect artistic and scientific perspectives on more-than-human actors through presentations, lectures, field trips, and workshops. The symposium will bring topics of the presence of vegetation, avian and insect fauna into art; it will open questions of value of nature, ecosystem services, and rights of nature. In its more local focus, the symposium will thematize the diversity of habitats of Brno and its surroundings, from urban wastelands to old-growth forests, predominantly from the perspective of botany and ornithology. The symposium will host researchers from Masaryk University and Czech Globe, conservationists from Czech Society for Ornithology and Rezekvítek alongside Czech and international visual artists and curators.

-> 7:50 Field trip to the Malhotky National Natural Monument – departure by 8:12 train from the main station, direction Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště to Nevojice; meeting 7:50 in the main hall. The tour will be guided by botanist RNDr. Libor Ambrozek. From Malhotky, we will walk through Nevojice to Ždánice forest hills towards the destination U slepice (Hen’s Hill) to observe old-growth oak and beech forests.
-> Workshop with MgA. Tomáš Hrůza: Hen and Crude Oil: what existed first? In a performative walk along the hills of The Ždánice forest, we will focus on the topic of geological memory of the place and of deep time sensations. We are going to explore hen steps and tune them with the frequency of the pendulums of the oil derricks. After the walk, there will be the possibility to take the train from Nesovice or Nemotice to Kyjov – Boršov Meadows where you might spend the night in your own tent.
