The University of Bristol is delighted to invite you to the inaugural lecture of Professor Flavia De Luca, titled From Earthquakes to Opportunities: A Journey Through Structural Resilience and Academic Discovery.
Time:
Abstract:
Structural engineering evolves through disruptive events, just as careers do. The 2009 L’Aquila earthquake reshaped my PhD journey, in Italy, opening doors to soil-structure interaction and earthquake resilience of schools in Nepal while working in the UK. A story of chance, challenge, and transformation in pursuit of safer, smarter structures.
After the lecture, guests joining in person are warmly invited to stay for a reception with canapés and fizz. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with you.
