Tweet talk - birdsong workshop

Ever heard the mesmerising melodies of our native songbirds and been stumped as to what is singing so sweetly? Or out on a walk with friends are you dying to share your expertise on the difference between a song thrush and goldfinch as they flit between treetops?

Ed Drewitt, well-known author and expert naturalist will share with us his top tips for identifying birds by delving deeply into the make-up of their distinctive songs. We’ll start with some early fieldwork as our expert leads us out on a thrilling bird walk on Clifton Down discovering the extraordinary varied patterns of birdsong and focussing on many of our common Downs species. Back down at the former Bristol Zoo Gardens site we’ll have lunch (not provided) and look in more depth at the theory over a cup of tea and biscuit.
