Special Collections Sunday : Botanical Books

A display of botanical books from the collections at Bristol Central Library.

Our June Special Collections Sunday takes a look at some Botanical Books from our collections. Highlights include a sixteenth-century Herbal by Flemish botanist, Rembert Dodoen, a volume by the pioneering botanical artist Maria Sibylla Merian and much more. Come along for an afternoon of bloomin' beautiful old books.

This event has been organised to coincide with our current exhibition Unearthed: The power of gardening.

Join us in the Bristol Room, Central Library, on 22 June anytime between 2-4pm. This is an open event, no booking required. Please be aware that the capacity of the Bristol Room is limited and you may have to wait if there is a high demand. We are keen to make this event open to all interested whilst ensuring the safety of our visitors and the collections.
