RAVENAISSANCE ~ Medieval Tavern Rave

A Humble Proclamation to All Good Folk:

Let it be known throughout the shire and beyond,
That upon the soonest turning of the moon,
A most wondrous and infamous revel shall be held —
RAVENNAISSANCE be its name, a feast for the senses,
A riotous gathering of mirth, music, and misrule!

Come ye one, come ye all, to Ye Olde Red Lion,
That hallowed hall of ale and ancient cheer,
Where goblets overflow and spirits fly high as falcons.
Garb thyself in thy finest finery, or else be thy wildest self!
For on that eve, time shall twist, and olde shall meet rave!

The bards? Aye — speak not of them yet!
Word of their names and noble noise shall come anon,
And their songs shall shake the rafters and rattle the bones
Of even the sleepiest squire.

So stay thy plough and mark thy parchments with the date:

And ready thyself for revelry untamed —
RAVENNAISSANCE approacheth!
