Festival of Chariots - Jaggannatha Rathayatra

We invite everyone from the Bristol community for this special Festival of Chariots event, symbolising the Lord coming out to see everyone on the streets. As he wills for an outing in summer!

ISKCON (Regd. Charity) Bristol team are organising the biggest Asian inter-cultural festival in Bristol on the 28th June, Saturday. The festival will involve a big wooden Chariot that will be pulled by all the participants from outside the Galleries (near Broadmead Podium) along with singing, and dancing to the traditional folk tunes involving the Hare Krishna Mahamantra (famously sung by George Harrison in 'My Sweet Lord').

The procession starts at 12 noon from outside Galleries (Near Broadmead Podium) and gradually moves towards the Castle Park Bandstand. The attached poster lists all the details.

The procession will be full of varied colours of Indian/Asian dresses, colourful flags, musical instrument teams and lots of dancing on the way. The procession will finally terminate at "The Bandstand" in Castle park, where there will be stage events including Indian classical dance, Dramas and kids performances. Towards the end there will be free food distribution for all attending, cooked by our famous Queen's awarded Charity "Food for All".
