This course will equip learners with an overview knowledge and skills to be able to deal with an emergency situation, perform emergency aid as a first aider at work or as a volunteer and pass assessment.
Learning Outcomes:
Correctly list the contents and essentials of a first aid kit
Describe and demonstrate how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation and state 1+ reason for the safe use of a defibrillator
Demonstrate correctly how to deal with an unconscious casualty, assess a choking casualty and be able to give emergency aid
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries, including small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns, and scalds
Deal with a bleed, fracture, sprain and strain correctly and recognise the differences.
Assess how to use learning on course in a work or volunteering setting
This course will take place on Mondays – 29th September – 6th October 2025
This course is open to learners with few or no qualifications aged 19 years plus (in August ’25)
