Darn It! Clothes Mending Workshop

Like buying new things? Sew what! Let’s combat fast fashion and consumerism by fixing what we already have and love.

Gather your well-loved clothes - the ones you had worn so much that they’ve now seen better days - and bring them to Watershed's Café & Bar for a free all-day drop-in mending workshop.

The facilitators will show you how to darn (either visibly or invisibly), patch or appliqué stains and holes, and fix rips and seams. If you bring a replacement zip and buttons, they can also show you how to attach these.

There will be lots of materials on the day to help revive your items (think different textures and colours of thread and wool, and lots of cashmere and lambswool offcuts), and as much or as little creative and practical support as you need.

Please Note: this workshop is not run by pros, just a group of people who are passionate about prolonging the life of clothes!
