THE INVITATION:
You are invited to join this in-person, weekend-long workshop facilitated by Zuma Puma (founder of Clownlife) exploring the worlds of contemporary clowning, psychomagic, ritual theatre, the tarot and ceremony in Bristol.
This weekend will offer an introduction to the embodied practices of contemporary Clown and the pedagogy of Zuma Puma.
We will be working with Clown as a gateway into unlocking our full expression, exploring how this way of engaging with life can connect us to something beyond ourselves and furthermore offer an opportunity for deeper transformation, connection and most certainly a memorable life experience.

THE PEDAGOGY:
My Clownlife pedagogy is focused on self research through the art and practice of clown with a strong focus on well-being and mindful living, honouring and uplifting the expression of our uniquely ridiculous selves.
In this way, Clown is not just a performance expression but a philosophy and way of life. A life of connection, expressive freedom, humour, authenticity, honesty, presence, intuition, risk, commitment and the ability to fail well. It's one thing to perform clown but another to adopt the profound teachings into your life beyond the stage. This is no easy feat, it's a deep developmental process unleashing your self-expression, understanding your limitations on a visceral level and taking courageous risks to express authentically before others.
WHAT IS PSYCHOMAGIC?
Psychomagic is a healing art coined by the Elder Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky and described as a shamanic somatic and healing practice that uses ritual theatre, psychology, esoteric magic, dreams and theatre to create transformational experiences for individuals.
INTENTION:
Our intention with this exploration in psycho magic is to work with our collective dreams and energies, creating performances and rituals that carry our wishes for ourselves, the earth, all beings and future generations.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
* Anyone curious about the practice of clown, psychomagic and ritual. Whether you are a performing artist, public speaker, creator, drama/art therapist, magician, ceremonialist etc. or someone who just wants to come out of their shell and take a risk to play and be seen, this course is for you.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
This course is not a therapy course, however it can be experienced in a therapeutic and healing way.
Zuma’s experience and training is in shamanic, ceremonial and energetic healing modalities and clowning. It is not the intention of the work to become therapy for individuals but rather to create a potent space for participants to express their ridiculous selves, feel seen and heard and work via the modalities of clowning, ritual and ceremony to re-awaken life in a positive way. Our intention is to work with energy, connection and expression to reach the potential for deep transformation within a collective container.
WHY STUDY WITH ZUMA?
This course was designed by Zuma in order to apply the nature, wisdom, philosophy and games of clown to expand our lives beyond the ordinary.
Zuma has extensively trained with over 50 leading clown teachers worldwide for the past 16 years (including full 1-2 year intensive programs with Philippe Gaulier- Paris France and the School Of Clown and Comedy- Montréal, Francine Côté- Cirque Du Soleil) and The Pachinko Clown Through Mask Pedagogy with Sue Morrison just to mention a few.
For those who have a yearning to live deeply, whole heartedly, playfully and genuinely- this course was designed for you. Offering all the best teachings from years of training with a focus on personal development and how clown and ritual can enhance your life exponentially.
Besides her training in Clown, Zuma holds a keen interest in personal development. She trained with Bristol NLP to obtain her Neuro Linguistic Programming Master Practitioner certification. She is also a certified Embodied Dreamworker and enjoys bringing dreamwork in to her practice and research. Zuma has dedicated herself to a range of personal developmental programmes throughout her life as well as apprenticing a number of spiritual teachers and shamanic practitioners around the world; in process work, energy healing, holding ceremony, rites of passage initiations, ritual performance, vision questing and nature solos, mindfulness and nature connection.
