This event - and likey others in a series to come - will draw on the imagery of humans in the position of farmed animals.
For this first event we will be placing performers in black bags and "discarding" them near public bins complete with faux injuries, together with striking explanatory signs (still to be penned).
This will give outreachers an opportunity to start conversations with the public on the farmed animals who die of illness or injury before they even reach slaughter, of course leading into more general conversation on animal rights and veganism as the clear solution. For example the early deaths that do not result in "food" are an uncontroversial cruel "waste of life", but in a world where it's all unnecessary, surely any slaughter is a waste of life.
Location still to be determined (though feel free to offer suggestions).
2.5 hour performance - or until performers get too uncomfortable.
Gathering from 11.30 for a 12.30 performance start.
Organisation happening primarily via whatsapp, please leave a comment or message an organiser if you want to join the group.
