BrisBES: Introduction to Enterprise (2-Day Workshop at Spike Island)

Are you ready to turn your idea into a business—or take your early venture to the next stage? Join us for a free 2-day training course delivered through the Bristol Business and Enterprise Support (BrisBES) Programme, hosted at Spike Island this October.

This hands-on workshop series will introduce you to the essentials of enterprise, equipping you with the tools and confidence to plan, launch, and grow your business.

• Free training & support: Gain practical knowledge across two interactive half-day sessions.
• 1:1 coaching & wider support: Access ongoing fully funded advice and resources through BrisBES.
• £300 grant opportunity: Participants who declare a new business before December 2025 will be eligible to apply for a £300 grant to kickstart their enterprise.

Day 1: Marketing essentials: market research, SWOT analysis, goal setting & customer personas.
Day 2: Finance fundamentals: everything you need to get your business up and running.

Our advisors will be on hand throughout to answer your questions, with follow-up support available through 1:1 coaching or workshops as part of the BrisBES programme.

Who can apply?

This programme is open to anyone who:

• Lives within the Bristol City Council area.
• Has an idea for a new business, recently started one, or is already trading.
• Intends to launch a new business before December 2025.

BrisBES Grant Eligibility
To be eligible for the grant associated with this workshop, please note the following requirements:

• You must be enrolled with BrisBES prior to attending the workshop.
• You must complete a with your full name and work or residential address. This information allows us to carry out eligibility checks. Enrol with BrisBES .
• You must be based within the Bristol City Council boundary to qualify for the programme and associated grant.
• Grants will only be made available after succseful completion of the workshop.
• You must complete a BrisBES New Business Declaration Form to be eligble for the grant. The declared start date of your new business must be on or before November 30th, 2025.
