Rest is more than just sleep. It forms the foundation of physical health, emotional stability, and mental clarity. Yet, many of us find it difficult to switch off - our bodies may be still, but our minds keep racing.
Sometimes called “yogic sleep,” Yoga Nidra provides a gateway to true rest. Practised lying down with closed eyes, it guides the body into a state of profound relaxation while the mind remains suspended between wakefulness and sleep - lowering stress, improving sleep quality, reducing anxiety, and boosting creativity and concentration.
In this 90-minute evening experience, Rory Singer (psychotherapist, teacher, and Clinical Director of New Road Psychotherapy) will lead a talk and Q&A on the science and psychology of deep rest, followed by a comprehensive Yoga Nidra practice.
You will learn:
-What Yoga Nidra is, and how it differs from meditation or sleep
-How it affects the nervous system and mental wellbeing
-Simple ways you can integrate deep rest into daily life
All welcome - no prior yoga or meditation experience needed. Simply wear comfortable clothing and bring an openness to pause, breathe, and rest deeply.
