Come plant wildflowers with us! 🌼
Thursday 12th June | 10am–2pm (or drop in when you can)
Craven Wood Meadow | Part of Whitehawk Hill Nature Reserve
We’re joining forces with the brilliant Brighton & Hove Wildflower Guardians for a day of planting — but this isn’t just about digging. It’s an invitation to delight in wildflowers, to learn from nature experts (including ranger and plant-whisperer Jess), and to spend time immersed in the beauty of tiny, wondrous things.
We’ll be planting plugs grown by the Wildflower Conservation Society , a Stanmer Park-based group working to restore local chalk grasslands. Expect conversation, connection, colour — and maybe even magnifying glasses to marvel at petals, stamens, and the secret intricacies of meadow life.
Whether you stay all day or pop by for a bit, you’ll be part of something joyful and important — helping pollinators, boosting biodiversity, and creating a wildflower haven to brighten the summer.
Meet us at 10am at the Causeway entrance.
If you're arriving later, make your way to the meadow — it's marked on the map inside the lecterns at all entrances.
Or check our website for directions beforehand.
All welcome! No experience needed. Bring yourself, your curiosity, some lunch and dress for the weather.
Note: the site is on a hill with uneven ground and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
