The words 'Self-Care' are commonly used within various fields of mental health and wellbeing, but what does this actually mean?
What is it comprised of?
Why has it become a necessity now rather than ‘an indulgence’?
And most importantly, what gets in the way of us practicing it for ourselves?
This is the first in a series of well-being workshops that will explore the above; breaking down what Self-care actually is, why it needs to be made a priority, and why many of us find it so difficult to put into practice.
We will also start to explore how to overcome the obstacles that present themselves in daily life, in order for you to not just survive, but to thrive in whatever path you choose to follow.
All of the workshops I facilitate give space to talk and share, offer practical exercises and discussion, and at times where appropriate, I offer guided imagery and meditation techniques.
About me:
I have a background in humanities and 25 years experience as a Psychotherapist/counsellor in the field of mental health and well-being; with individuals and groupwork.
I have extensive therapeutic knowledge which I apply in all areas of my work, and a wide variety of interests and tools that I combine within my workshops to help facilitate personal and spiritual growth.
My aim is to create well-being, balance and joy in life; within my own as well as in others!
