sugar-free X JOY presents:REALLY BIG REALLY CLEVER
Influenced by artists such as Deftones, Reuben, PUP and Violent Soho, the core duo of Jared Tomkins and Jordan Lilford formed the project after the split of their previous band, Gender Roles. Lacking the correct amount of limbs for full live performances, they brought in Brighton scene stalwarts Chris Childs and Sam Perkins to round out the lineup, ensuring their onstage energy matched the power of their recordings.
Since their formation, really big really clever have played and toured alongside notable acts like Tigercub, Sweet Pill, Have Mercy, Gaffa Tape Sandy, Church Girls, and Family Dinner, solidifying their reputation as one of the most exciting live bands in the scene.
2025 sees the band release their sophomore record '...huh', teaming up with Ian Sadler (Suds, Gender Roles) the second record sees a progression in the songwriting whilst maintaining their fast paced hook driven signature style. Released via Sugar-Free Records on the 22nd of August lead singles 'floss is boss' and 'back door' give promise the record will be on most end of year lists. + supports
