Do you and your partner have a regular check-in to reflect on how your relationship is going?
What if that check-in could help you feel more seen, more supported, and more secure - together?
How would it feel to design a ritual that truly fits your relationship and strengthens your connection over time?
Following a fully booked workshop at Medicine Festival 2024, facilitators and real-life partners Dan and Mags are bringing an in-person, immersive full day experience to Brighton & Hove.
Creating A Relationship Ritual is a nourishing, practical and reflective day exploring how a thoughtful, heart-centred, useful relationship check-in can support deeper connection, clear communication, and a greater sense of mutual care in your most meaningful partnership(s).
Whether you came to our online taster last month (13th April) or are joining us for the first time, this in-person experience will give you the time, space, and guidance to go deeper into what makes a check-in ritual powerful - and how you can shape one that’s authentic to you.
What Can You Expect?
Together, we will…
Delve into why a relationship check-in is a a valuable tool for long-term stability, emotional safety and mutual growth
Discuss some of the core principles behind it, drawing from the work of Stan Tatkin (secure functioning) and Esther Perel (intentional connection)
Explore different kinds of content you might include in a check-in - from celebrating wins to naming challenges and setting intentions
Reflect on how to adapt the format to suit your unique relationship dynamic - whether you're monogamous, polyamorous, cohabiting, long-distance, or still defining your structure
Engage in guided exercises to practice authentic, empathetic, heart-led communication
Practice! - we will work in pairs and try out some of the options available to us in creating a check-in with our partner
Leave with a customisable framework to co-create your own relationship ritual
Expect a mix of guided reflections, paired conversations, group discussion and live demos to help bring the ritual to life.
Who Is This For?
This workshop is open to anyone who wants to be more intentional in love and partnership:
You’re in a committed partnership and want to co-create a regular check-in ritual
You’re single or dating and want to explore tools for future relationships
You’re building a new relationship and want to lay a strong foundation
Your relationship structure is unique - and you'd love a model that’s adaptable to your needs
All genders, orientations, and relationship constellations are warmly welcomed.
Please purchase 1 ticket per person attending.
What Should You Bring?
A journal and pen for reflections
Comfortable clothes - you’ll be sitting, sharing, and gently moving around
A packed lunch or money for local cafés (we’ll take a mid-day break)
An open mind and a willingness to explore yourself and your relationships
This is not couples therapy: we will not be able to directly support any interpersonal conflict or provide specific advice for your relationship. This workshop may surface challenges, issues, and misalignment in your relationship - which could provide the opportunity for greater closeness and stability, but also the potential for disruption and disconnection. If you are in a partnership and unsure if this workshop is right for you, please get in touch with Mags and Dan for an informal call to explore your options.
