We’re heading to the beautiful Anchor Inn near Barcombe for a laid-back afternoon of good company, rowing boats, countryside walks, and drinks by the water. This charming country pub sits right on the River Ouse — perfect for hiring a boat, catching up over a pint in the garden, or simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
What to Bring:
👉 A sense of fun (and maybe a spare top if you’re going boating!)
👉 Come solo or with friends — everyone’s welcome
👉 No pressure — join in with whatever you feel like on the day
Rough Plan:
Meet at the pub around 2 PM
Grab a drink, hire boats, explore the river, and hang out by the water
Optional gentle walk nearby later in the afternoon
Getting There from Brighton:

Train from Brighton to Lewes – around 17 minutes
Taxi from Lewes to the Anchor Inn (approx. 15 minutes)
Note: Buses don’t run on Bank Holidays, so arrange a taxi or share a lift in advance.
🚗 By Car:
