Beyond The Blue
Beyond the Blue is an innovative London-based contemporary jazz ensemble blending jazz with elements of UK dance, classical, and other genres to create a fresh, boundary-pushing sound. Known for energetic live performances and sell-out shows at venues like The Vortex Jazz Club, Hootananny Brixton, and Milton Court Concert Hall as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, the band has also supported established acts including Blue Lab Beats and Rosie Frater-Taylor.
The group performs original compositions and arrangements written largely by bandleader and pianist Jude Lane. Its unique septet lineup features Jude Lane (piano/keys), Joe Tzabar (guitar), Jack Devonshire (alto & soprano sax), Cam Rossi (tenor sax), Cubby Howard (cello), Alex Bresh (bass), and Jonah Phillips (drums). This instrumentation allows for rich harmonic textures and dynamic interplay across genres.
