2025 ISMF SKIMO WORLD CUP - Solitude Mountain Resort - December 5, 6 & 7

The ISMF Skimo World Cup is coming to Solitude Mountain Resort this December 5–7, 2025. Get ready to watch the planet’s fastest ski mountaineers race head-to-head in the heart of Utah’s Wasatch Mountains.

This international event will bring elite athletes from more than 20 nations to compete in sprint and mixed-relay formats — high-intensity, spectator-friendly racing that combines uphill grit, downhill speed, and pure endurance.

Join us at Solitude for a weekend of world-class racing, live music, local food trucks, giveaways, and winter celebration. Witness history as the U.S. hosts a World Cup stop on the road to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina.

Opening Ceremony - Friday, December 5, 2025 at 4:30 pm at Last Chance Lodge, Solitude Mountain Resort

Mixed Relay Race - Saturday, December 6, 2025 beginning at 9 am near the Eagle Lift area at Solitude Mountain Resort.

Sprint Race - Sunday, December 7, 2025 beginning at 9 am near the Eagle Lift area at Solitude Mountain Resort

This heat-style format is fast-paced and full of excitement for spectators. These races come down to seconds.

In between the heats visit our vendor village, grab food or snacks from the on-site food trucks, play games, and win prizes. We'll have a live DJ, music, food, and fun for the whole family. This is a great way to watch Olympic-level athletes without traveling to Cortina, Italy!

Info: Come enjoy the Opening Ceremony of the ISMF Skimo World Cup at Solitude Mountain Resort. Come kick off the games and participating on the celebration of sport and the unity with Parade of Nations at the commencement of this event. The Opening Ceremony will take place at the Last Chance Lodge at Solitude Mountain Resort.

The Mixed Relay showcases teamwork, speed, and endurance as male and female athletes pair up to race in alternating laps over a compact, high-intensity ski mountaineering course. Each athlete completes multiple ascents, transitions, and descents before tagging their partner in a fast-paced exchange zone. The format keeps spectators on edge as lead changes happen every minute.


After the final leg, the Flower Ceremony will take place at 1:30 PM to celebrate the top three mixed relay teams.

The Sprint event is the most fast-paced discipline in ski mountaineering — a thrilling head-to-head race combining uphill climbs, transitions, bootpacks, and high-speed descents. Athletes compete in timed heats of six racers at a time, with the fastest advancing through quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. Each heat lasts only a few minutes, creating non-stop action for spectators.


Following the finals, a Flower Ceremony will take place near the podium area to honor the top three men and women finishers.
