Explore Cyanotype Printing at The Grange

Step into the serene and inspiring world of cyanotype printing at the beautiful Grange in Rottingdean! I'm Daniela Sbrisny of Blueschein Printshed, and I'm thrilled to be a guest artist at Gertrude's, the wonderful gallery shop nestled within this historic gem for a week from the 30th July till the 3rd August 25. The Grange, with its charming early Georgian architecture and stunning, award-winning gardens – famously influenced by Gertrude Jekyll and Edwin Lutyens – provides the perfect backdrop for a mindful and creative escape.

Join me on Sunday, July 27th (1-3pm) or Friday, August 1st (11am-1pm) to discover the magic of cyanotype, the historic photographic process invented by Sir John Herschel in 1842 and celebrated by pioneering botanist and photographer Anna Atkins. We'll use the power of the sun and gather a few beautiful leafs from the Grange's exquisite gardens to create our very own captivating Prussian blue prints.

This is a chance to slow down, connect with nature, explore its intricate details and transform natural elements into lasting artworks.

Whether you're an experienced artist or curious to try something new, these workshops offer a unique opportunity to learn a fascinating skill in an idyllic setting. We will immerse ourselves into the tranquillity of the Grange's beautiful surroundings, meet new people, and you will leave with a unique piece of art that you created, which you can display at home of give as a present to a loved one.
