Alpine Brass Festival

The Skunkworks Community Alpine Brass Festival is a celebration of high-caliber brass music, youth development, and community engagement. Featuring some of Australia’s finest brass musicians and educators, the festival provides an immersive experience for players, fostering technical growth, ensemble skills, and musical artistry. The standard of performance is exceptionally high, with participants performing pop up concerts in the town as well as at the local retirement village and market. The festival attracts bands from across Victoria and beyond, including Glenferrie Brass, The City of Greater Dandenong Band, Hyde Street Youth Band, Creswick and Daylesford Bands as well as Wodonga Brass and the Victorian State Youth Brass Band.
A key element of the Alpine Brass Festival is its strong connection to the local Bright community, ensuring that the benefits of the event extend beyond the musicians themselves. Through a series of targeted performances at retirement villages, and community spaces, participants share their music with audiences who may not otherwise have access to live brass performances. These outreach concerts not only bring joy and cultural enrichment to residents but also instill in young musicians a sense of social responsibility and the power of music to connect people across generations.
