**Grounds Work Assistance Required 5th of July 2025**
Hi All
We need to plant a natural fence of a dense privet hedge along the boundary down the back of the scout hut premises to prevent people from accessing the railway from that area.
To complete this project, I could do with some help on firstly preparing the area.
What I need help with is clearing a narrow strip of the brambles and a couple of small tree stumps (they need cutting back to ground level) either by using hand tools and/or the petrol strimmer/brushcutter which we have at the premises.
The area for clearing is along the wire fence. Just enough to be able to plant the hedging plugs in the soil (approx 30cm wide strip) along the wire fence line.
Two explorers have volunteered to attend on the morning of the 5th of July. If anyone else can attend to help on that day, that would be great (there are other grass cutting jobs to be done also) so the more the merrier.
If any parents could prepare the area for us during section evenings before the 5th of July, that would be even better as we could then plant some of the hedging on the 5th.
We are aiming for 9.30am to 12.30pm on the 5th of July 2025.
A warm welcome, cold drinks, a chocolate bar, country music and some child friendly banter is on offer.
