Join Naturalists from Dubuque, Jackson, and Jones County on a trip for a private visit to the Aldo Leopold Center, Leopold Shack, and witness the fall migration of thousands of sandhill cranes.
The Aldo Leopold Center is located about 2 hours from Dubuque near Baraboo, Wisconsin. Space is limited and the cost of $71 covers transportation to the center by van, along with the tour of the center, shack and bird blind for observing the cranes.

We are creating a pre-registration list and you will then receive an email to pay the $71.00 fee on-line once the list is full. Space is limited to 15 participants so be sure to add your name to the waiting list if interested!
Schedule of the Day:
7:30 am: Meet at EB Lyons Interpretive Center (8991 Bellevue Heights Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003)
7:45 am: Depart EB Lyons in Dubuque for Aldo Leopold Center in Baraboo
9:50 am to 10 am: Arrive at Aldo Leopold Center/ Restroom break
10:00 am to 12:30 pm: Tour of the Shack and Farm
12:30 pm to 12:45 pm: Travel back to the Visitor Center.
12:45 pm to 1:15 pm: Enjoy your own sack lunch/beverage.
1:15 pm to 1:45 pm: Tour the Aldo Leopold Center Green Building.
1:45 pm to 2:00 pm: Restroom break
2:00 pm to 2:45 pm: Presentation on Sand Hill Cranes.
2:45 pm to 3:05 pm: Restroom break/ Shop the Marshland Market.
3:05 pm to 3:25 pm: Travel to Crane Blind (travel to the blind must be done as a group.)
3:30 pm to 5:00 pm: Experience the breathtaking sight of thousands of Sand Hill Cranes as they return to roost for the night.
5:00 pm: Depart from the Crane Blind to give the Cranes a peaceful night’s rest and head home with stunning memories.
7:00 - 7:30 pm: Return to EB Lyons Interpretive Center in Dubuque.
Bring a sack lunch, beverage, and water. Snacks and food are NOT sold in the gift shop.
