2026 is The National Year of Reading, which aims to engage new audiences and create a society where reading for pleasure is a joyful, visible and meaningful activity for everyone, regardless of background, income, age or identity.
Join teacher and writer Sue Wilsea for a series of creative writing workshops exploring the connection between reading and writing.
This is a series of workshops taking place over four consecutive Fridays from 19 May to 9 June inclusive. It is NOT essential to commit to all four workshops, but participants are encouraged to if they possibly can. All four workshops are different and suitable for all abilities, for participants aged 16+

Sue Wilsea is an experienced teacher as well as being a writer. She has delivered writing workshops and projects across the whole age and ability range in venues as diverse as universities, community centres and HM prison.
Her published works include two volumes of short stories, and her writing has been widely published, broadcast and performed.
