Open to all members & non members -
The Horse:Human Nervous System – how they interact & how this can help your relationship with your horse (going deeper)!
A more extensive look into how understanding the above can help deepen the feeling of unity you can achieve with your horse.
Traditionally we have been taught that horsemanship is all about technique; telling the horse what to do…. & if this doesn’t work it is either our fault or the fault of the horse. Phillip will discuss how we re-examine this system; how we can work with our horses to help them use their own innate problem solving abilities, & how they can help us calm, process & focus.
Philip is an Equine facilitated psychotherapist & Leadership coach. He started his professional career as a mental health nurse over 30 yrs ago, specializing in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. He ran his clinical work alongside a parallel career as a barrister, & more recently has continued his professional development by training as an integrative counsellor & psychotherapist. He shares his life with 4 fabulous equines; Moon, Pedro, Harley & Cici. They have all encouraged his interest in the relational interactions between horses & humans. He runs Equi-Librium Coaching & Therapy, which is a not for profit organisation who provide low/no cost trauma based therapy for those with complex PTSD, aswell as corporate leadership & team coaching.
