Friends of the Meads and Seed of Hope have been invited to be one of 12 Community groups creating images made from willow for the new Heritage Arts Trail that will be launched around Bridgwater.
The Heritage Arts Trail is themed around the idea of ‘made in Bridgwater’ and will be 18 new locations around Bridgwater to inset interpretation boards that tell the story of local history, significant people, local industry and acknowledge the environmental changes to significant ecological areas of the Town.
The trail will take just over 2 hours to walk and will take audiences from St. Mathews Field to Cornhill via the Meads, the Docks, the river’s edge and Blake Gardens. At 12 of those locations there will be a community-built image made from Willow that responds to that Landscape, Story or History.
We are going to be creating images for the Meads.
The Meads project will run over 4 sessions
Free to attend, all are welcome, no experience of working with willow is required, the artist will teach and explain the techniques
