Orpheus Collar: Illustrator

Join us to welcome a 2025 Summer Reading Program performer: Orpheus Collar: Illustrator. He is a New York Times Best-Selling Graphic Novelist known for his all-ages graphic adaptations of the Greek Mythology-focused Percy Jackson series,the Roman Mythology-focused Heroes of Olympus series, and the Egyptian Mythology-focused Kane Chronicles trilogy. Presenting a look back at the imagery of the books and how they were made, Orpheus shows visits from around the world searching for the mythological origins in preparation for his graphic novels & discussing the role archeology and sketching from life aids in his process creating vivid graphic fantasy stories. Audiences will be provided paper to sketch on and are encouraged to draw & doodle along. In addition to the slide presentation, Orpheus will demo any requests for drawings and will be available to sign books for attendees.This project was made possible in part by Delaware Division of Libraries and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
