Pigeon Park Productions and Zigzag are proud to present the perfect recipe for an intimate and enlightening evening with WA’s Best Pie.
Consisting of x3 awarded and diverse musicians (genres ranging from Hard Rock to Folk) in their own right, WA’s Best Pie is a showcase of homegrown songwriting talent with a firm focus on the songwriting. A tour of troubadours of sorts. An all acoustic assortment of treats from x3 class acts renowned for penning a tune.
WA’s Best Pie features the following performers.
Felicity Groom
https://www.felicitygroom.com/about
With a music man grandfather, there was no avoiding a musical life for Felicity Groom. Its for others to discuss the burden of hearing music when you wake, when you sleep, in the morning or at night… though Felicity Groom loves it.
Releasing numerous albums (some through a label some independently) of original material, collaborating with film makers, theatre producers, choreographers multi disciplinary art curators as well as family and friends are some of the things that have and shall continue occurring. Felicity Groom plays a rare solo performance. We trust you shall remain enlightened.
Steve Gibson
After years of playing with acts such as The K*ll Devil Hills , Justin Walshe Folk Machine, Donna Simpson (The Waifs), Wasted Sons and many more, Steve Gibson has been taking front of stage with his own songs and the recent launch of his debut ep Don’t Take Me Down. One of his songs was voted #3 in RTRFM’s best WA songs of all time ( Drinking too Much) and more recently another nominated for WAM Song of the Year in the Country category ( Rattlesnakes). He has put together an all-star band The Champion Rubies featuring some of Freo’s finest musos to bring his songs to life but also ventures out solo to play them how they were written. The WA’s Best Pie tour sees Steve bring it back to where it all began, one man and one guitar.
MICHAEL PAVER
Michael is a prolific, and awarded, guitarist and singer-songwriter; who has received multiple WAMI awards/nominations in multiple genres. Michael has been the Chief Songwriter for BATS, House of Commons, Modern Warfare and The Scotch of Saint James. In acoustic mode Michael plays under the mioniker of PEA. PEA sees Michael step into the troubadour shoes and relish a role more as storyteller than singer with a focus of the gentle craft of songwriting & performance. Think Tim Rogers and the Twin Set if it was a lullaby. Michael has recently produced movie scores for Halo Films and played in The Scotch of SAINT JAMES, BATS, Modern Warfare, Arthur Stewart and the Salty Sea Dogs- whilst operating Control Control Studios situated in the Deep South of Kentdale.
Tickets to all shows are $25 on the door of the venue on the night with cash preferred. We do not believe in making the fat cats fatter. For this price you can expect x3 45 minute sets of pure and heartfelt storytelling at a bare minimum intertwined with treats and tidbits from the three artists many stories from more than a decade own the business.
Hope to see you there
