***Parade***
Join the City of Bridgeton for our annual Independence Day Parade on Friday, July 4, at 10 am. This year’s theme is “Holiday Heatwave.” Bridgeton’s Volunteer of the Year, Jessica Perkins, will be the parade marshal. All Fourth of July events are sponsored by Leonardo DRS and Republic Services.
The parade route begins on Lockport Drive., turns on Tideland Drive to Majella Drive, then turns westbound (left) on Natural Bridge Rd. The parade follows Natural Bridge Road and turns left into the entrance to Target and concludes in the Machinists Hall parking lot.
Please note there will be several road closures the morning of the parade: Natural Bridge will close from Fee Fee Rd. to St. Charles Rock Road at 10 am. The St. Gerard neighborhood entrance from Natural Bridge will close at 9:00 am. Other streets on the parade route/parade lineup will close as early as 9 a.m., including Bain Ct. parts of Benedetta Dr., parts of Avery Ln. To help alleviate congestion, please avoid that area after 9 am if you are not a parade participant. Parking and viewing for those with accessibility needs is reserved at Faith Baptist Church, 12061 Natural Bridge Rd.
There will be refreshments available for parade participants in the Machinists Hall parking lot, where trophy and award winners will be announced shortly after the conclusion of the parade. There will be portable restrooms located along Natural Bridge Road. The restrooms will be available before, during and after the parade.
