🎭 Theatre from the Alum: Stories That Shape Us
Presented by MOJA Productions in partnership with Housatonic Community College
An evening of theatre, film, and community — featuring award-winning playwright Lisa McCree and acclaimed artist Tenisi Davis, performed by professional actors who got their start right here at Housatonic.
This is not just a performance — it’s an experience. Enjoy original plays, a feature film reading, curated small bites, and 9-point wines designed to pair perfectly with the night’s storytelling.
A gripping story about legacy, identity, and the narratives we choose to preserve. Dr. Curtis Jackson dreams of opening an African American museum in Richmond, Virginia — but one rare artifact stands between him and his vision. His former student Ellie Singleton must decide whether revisiting the “same old slavery stories” is the only way forward.
Fresh stories that spark dialogue, challenge perspective, and shine a light on underexplored narratives.
Be the first to hear excerpts from Tenisi Davis’s sci-fi psycho-thriller feature film set to be shot in Bridgeport in Summer 2027. B-Port: Resistance is a bold story of survival, power, and truth that blends science fiction with real social urgency.
