Southerndown & Ogmore Coastal Loop

Hello Marauders! ☀️☀️☀️

Wednesday the 11th June we are going down to the coast and Lee will be leading us on a 7.5 mile circular walk around the areas of Southerndown, St Brides Major and Ogmore.

Starting from the car park of the Three Golden Cups pub on the Main Road in Southerndown Lee & Will are taking us on a route through Slade woods where we'll pick up the Valeways Millenium Heritage Trail and onwards to the village of St Brides Major with its lovely pond.

From here we'll pass through the grounds of St Bridget's Church and continue up over the wide open space of Ogmore Downs and Southerndown golf course until we reach our lunch stop at Ogmore Castle. Tide dependent, we'll try and get a picture of us balancing on the famous Stepping Stones!

From here we'll pick up the Wales Coastal Path along the banks of the Ogmore river, passing through the popular Ogmore-by-Sea beach whilst enjoying the views over the Bristol Channel as we return back to the pub for a well-earned pint!

As usual wear weather appropriate clothing and brink plenty of fluids and a snack. A sun hat and sunscreen may be useful too for anyone without a full head of hair!!

Please arrive by 9:20am for a 9:30am start.
