The training will be compulsory for door supervisors and security guards who wish to renew their licences after 1 April 2025.
The qualifications update safety-critical skills that door supervisors and security guards use to keep the public safe. The Security Industry Authority (SIA) encourages affected licence holders to take the training as soon as possible.
To renew your qualification/licence, you must hold the 'Refresher Training' qualification. To attend this refresher training.
You must have an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or equivalent before training for a door supervisor or security guard licence.
You must have one of the new qualifications (after April 2021) or have taken top-up training before applying for or renewing a door supervisor and security guard licence. You must provide a certificate to prove these qualifications before the course.
